Sony PS3 - Sport
Product Description
Everyone likes a bit of Samba. This is EA's first outing on the PS3 for their urban depiction of the great game on 18th March 2008. It is almost the Brazilian take on the football scene. It has every trick and flick possible under the sun; a game that is to be taken lightly.

The characters in this game are (I use this word quite profusely) “imaginative”. As mentioned before this is not a serious game so therefore the features of each individual player are exaggerated. From Rooney’s bull like frame to Crouches gangly features that look like they are going to break at the sight of a football. They all add to the game and are quite funny as this is what is intended, if crouch actually looked like that there is no way he would be able to hold that big head of his up, so from that respect I like the game as it adds an element of “I want to play some mutant football”.
The players also play their part, as you play, your team mates call enthusiastically as they want a chance to show what they can do.
The opposition are somewhat useless to this manoeuvre as the only form of tackling they have at their disposal is a slight shove (fair of course) of the ball and an exaggerated low sweep. So therefore they are at your mercy. However when the football boot is on the other foot, the game can have you breaking the controller in frustration. It is obvious from the off set that this game is aimed at attacking rather than defending.
The game offers a lot to a group of lads that just want a mess about and a laugh as the multiplayer function is to me what the game should be about. It offers initially a lot of entertainment, once you have mastered the tricks and flicks it becomes a bit repetitive and mundane. The one player mode however is a let down and just lacklustre to say the least, it doesn’t offer any sort of a career or create your own player so this to me is just a game that you rent out for a while and return forth with as you will grow quite bored of it within the first couple of plays.
