Product Description
In “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defences’ and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.
Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

The graphics for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for Nintendo DS are good quality of what you come to expect from the DS console. Though the screen size does not allow for detailed graphics, you are at least able to identify each of the characters. However, the graphics are not as clean cut as I would have liked to have seen with jagged edges visible on both the characters and the school. Though this is a high standard of graphics for the Nintendo DS; the game could do with a bit of brightening up to improve the quality of the game instantly.
I always find that if a game gives me decent instructions the rest comes together, as it does for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for Nintendo DS. The controls are very simple to use, making the most of the Nintendo DS touch screen, you are able to move your character using the control pad or the touch screen. The top screen is used for informing you of vital information in regards to the game; you have the choice to view: a map, remembrance (your objectives), inventory and potions.
If more time had been spent on the graphics and sound of this game the quality of gameplay could be greatly improved; with that said the gameplay is enjoyable and will have you hooked for hours. With the options of mini-games, giving a deserved break from the main gameplay, you will find the gaming experience more to your liking. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for Nintendo DS doesn’t quite capture the Potter magic but it will get you part of the way there! If you are a Harry Potter fan you will know doutb buy Harry Potter and the half blood price.
